Drug-delivery and Pharmaceutical Technology Research Group |
|
The goal of the research group is to develop novel drug delivery systems and to perform thorough physical characterisation of raw materials, intermediates and drug delivery systems. The research of the group involves material characterisation, processing/engineering of materials to bioactive systems (drug delivery) and end-product quality testing. In terms of material characterisation the focus is on drug release behaviour from delivery systems (e.g. dissolution testing), end-product analysis, modern image analysis approaches for pharmaceutical solids and solid-state characterization of materials. There is an aim for deeper understanding regarding drug substance and excipient (additive) functionality in controlled- and modified-release drug delivery systems. Current research projects also focus on material behaviour during processing and process analytical solutions for increased understanding of processability of materials during batch- and continuous manufacturing processes.
